eContract Developer Portal
Send contracts for e-signature from your code or from an AI agent. The eContract REST API, OAuth 2.1, webhooks and a remote MCP server cover the whole job: send a document, follow signing, give each signer a link, and download the signed PDF and its audit trail. eContract is free to use right now, with fair-use limits.
There are no official SDKs yet: the OpenAPI document describes every public operation, so you can generate a client in your language from it.
What the API and the MCP server do
REST API
JSON over HTTPS at https://api.econtract.online/api/v1. Create and send a contract from a PDF, DOCX or template in one call, follow its status, create signing links and download the signed PDF with its audit trail.
MCP server for AI agents
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients connect to https://api.econtract.online/mcp (Streamable HTTP) and get tools to list templates, send contracts, check status, hand out signing links and fetch signed documents.
API keys and OAuth 2.1
Use an API key for your own backend, or OAuth 2.1 (authorization code with PKCE, discovery, dynamic client registration, refresh token rotation) when people connect your app to their workspace. Every operation names the scope it needs.
Webhooks
Get events pushed to your server when a contract is created, finishes processing, is viewed, signed, declined, completed or voided. Each delivery carries a signature you verify, with retries and a delivery log.
Safe retries, clear errors
Send an Idempotency-Key on writes and retries never create a second contract. Errors share one JSON envelope with a machine-readable code and an X-Request-Id.
Signing stays human
API keys and OAuth tokens can prepare, send and track contracts, but they can never sign or decline: those calls answer 403 HUMAN_ACTION_REQUIRED. Each signer signs through their own link.
